Yes, I realize the two-referee system is not new. Right now, only the NHL uses the two-ref system, which employs two equal referees and two linesmen for every game. The AHL and most of the top Canadian amateur leagues, such as the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, the Ontario Hockey League, and the Western Hockey League, have somewhat adopted it, using the two-referee system for at least half their games and all playoff games.

In June, the NCAA will discuss the two-referee system to see if it should be adopted for U.S. college games.
