en Jennings is one of those pop cultural blips that one can never fully explain. Then years from now, some guy will talk at length about Ken Jennings on a special "I Love the 2000s" on VH1. We will all vaguely remember how smart that guy was, and then go back to the topic of Nick and Jessica. My forties are not looking up right now.

Also an interesting note is that my wife, a fine, upstanding young woman, is liable to erupt into a tirade of profanity at the sight of Ken Jennings getting a question right. Although I wonder if she can comprehend the greatness she is seeing, I think she is blinded by rage and misses it all together. Frankly, it's a little frightening, and not having to see that side of my life partner any more is a big upside to the downfall of Mr. Jennings.
