The host of the gone-but-not-forgotten NHL 2Night, John Buccigross, loves hockey. He gets hockey. US media is littered with pretenders in the sport of hockey, guys who generally enjoy hockey, understand the game, and are happy to be a part of it — but just don't get it. John, as much as anyone (Canadian or American) gets it. Since he gets it, I thought I would ask him his feelings on some important issues for the NHL concerning officials. We exchanged emails, and he came up with some great answers to share with officiating.com readers.

On a chills scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being Ray Bourque hoisting the Stanley Cup, where does Paul Stewarts’ first game back from cancer rank?
Buccigross:
Considering how emotional and passionate "Stewy" is about life and hockey, and the fact he is the father of young children, it's off the charts. I can't think anything sadder than a young child losing a father. This world would be a lot better place if every parent gave his child parenting attentiveness and affection. I'm convinced that's the secret to nearly every social problem. I've seen Paul with his children, that's what he provides, and his kids are richer for it. That's the chill factor of his story for me. That's his boys still having a Dad.
