A hockey prizefight?
elebrity boxing on Fox was a bad idea. It pitted emphatically B List celebrities against each in staged boxing matches. Watching famous people make fools of themselves was thought to be genuinely entertaining.
That was a bad idea. Nothing more, nothing less.
The idea of Pay Per View (PPV) hockey fight contents is much more than a bad idea. It is what is wrong with our sport — and perhaps even our entire society.
As though there is not enough legitimacy involved with professional fighters in the NHL, minor leagues, and junior hockey — now we have to create an entire event around their inability to play hockey.
