In the NHL it's just a hit

n the 2000 NHL playoffs, New Jersey Devils defenceman Scott Stevens knocked out then-Philadelphia Flyers forward Eric Lindros with what the NHL termed to be a legal body check. If you were living in a cave in Argentina and missed it, it was a thunderous hit at the blueline. Lindros was cutting across the middle and Stevens met him there. One man got up; the other went several months before being cleared to rejoin the league.
